Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how ImageToText.digital ("we", "us") handles information when you use our image-to-text converter. We built this tool to be privacy-first: for most images, your file never leaves your device.

Your images

Our converter has two modes, and they handle your images differently:

• Fast (in-browser) mode: optical character recognition runs entirely inside your web browser. Your image is never uploaded to our servers or anywhere else.
• High-accuracy (AI) mode: when an image looks like handwriting or a low-quality scan, it is sent to google gemini API solely to extract the text for that single request. We do not store the image or the extracted text, and the request is subject to Google's data policies.

We do not retain, log, or share the contents of your images or the text we extract from them.

Information we store

• Preferences: your chosen language and theme are stored in your browser's local storage on your own device. They are never sent to us.
• Abuse prevention: to protect the high-accuracy service from abuse, we temporarily count requests per IP address in server memory. This is not used to identify you and is not stored long term.

Cookies and tracking

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. We use only your browser's local storage to remember your preferences.

Accounts

No account or sign-up is required to use the tool, and we do not collect names, email addresses, or payment information to provide it.

Third-party services

High-accuracy OCR is powered by Google's Gemini API. When that mode is used, the image is processed by Google under its own terms and privacy policy.

Children's privacy

This service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
